Seminar Report on
Domestic Violence
Care Fund held a seminar on domestic violence (DV) on June 9, 2007, presented by Ms. Hannah Sin, Community Outreach Director of Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP).
DVRP is a non-profit organization created in 1995 to help the Asian (including the Japanese) victims of DV in the Washington Metropolitan area .Domestic violence happens regardless of races, nationalities, religions, socioeconomic classes and education levels and can happen to anyone. We learned what DV is, what victims can do to overcome DV under the US social and legal systems, Do’s and Don’ts for those who try to help victims of DV.
If you are in abusive relationships and need help, call DVRP (202-464-4477) or National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233).
DVRP has Japanese-speaking advocates, so you can consult in Japanese.
