The
second “Keiai no Tsudoi”
On September 12, Sunday, the second “Keiai no Tsudoi” was held at the Potomac Community Center in Potomac, Maryland. This event was sponsored jointly by the Sushi Association Washington DC Branch and Japanese Americans’ Care Fund for elderly Japanese-Americans who live in the Washington Metropolitan Area. This year, the delicious lunch boxes were provided by “Tako Grill.” More than 70 attendees enjoyed the lunch box and meeting friends and acquaintances. The master of ceremony was Ms. Youko Elliott and the program of entertainment this year included: Koto concert by the Toho Koto Society, dance by Shizumi Kodomo Dance Troupe, the radio gymnastic exercise led by Ms. Hanami, and chorus by the Kohaku Ensemble directed by Ms. Emiko Nadimi. Everybody seemed to enjoy the entertainment very much. We extend our appreciation to those who accepted our request to perform at this event. Our appreciation is also extended to the following enterprises for their warm support for this event: Japan Commerce Association of Washington, DC Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Hinata Sushi Carry Out Pembroke Springs Retreat Route 11 Potato Chips etc. “Keiai no Tsudoi” would not have been successful without the many volunteers who spent so much time for preparation and for taking care of attendees. “Keiai no Tsudoi” has now become one of the most important annual events of the Care Fund. We hope that many volunteers will extend their support again next year.
